The PersiMMon Project

"We will either find a way or make one."

PersiMMon

Computers today have a severe handicap: they represent data in a non-uniform way. The PersiMMon project will solve this problem, by implementing Distributed Persistent Memory.

The PersiMMon project began in 2000 CE, and has already achieved limited operation.  Functionality is increasing, and we are working towards the first release.

PersiMMon is Free Software (GPL), based on the Linux kernel, but readily portable to other operating systems (e.g. BSD, HURD).

PersiMMon is still pre-alpha, but if you are brave and determined, you can try it out. At present it provides read-write persistent memory, but without transactions, meta-data or networking. Even so, PersiMMon can access warm records > 1000 times faster than MySQL.
